Out of the Blue oysters is a small family owned and operated Sydney rock oyster farm at beautiful Narooma on the pristine Wagonga inlet on NSW's fabulous south coast. Situated under the gaze of ancient Mt Gulaga, the Wagonga inlet is fed by untainted South Pacific ocean waters and a small freshwater tributary ensuring a wonderful growing environment for our oysters. As far as oyster farming goes, we are literally from "out of the blue" having come from far away Perth in Western Australia and never having seen an oyster farm in our lives until 2017. We fell in love with Narooma, the Wagonga inlet and the idea of becoming oyster farmers. We bought a neglected oyster farm and have spent the past few years resurrecting it and struggling to survive the bushfires, Covid and floods. On our journey of learning we have discovered that just like ourselves, many folk we met loved our oysters but knew very little about oyster and were very interested to know more. Out of this has evolved our oyster farm tours operation, enabling us to share with you our beautiful inlet and our fascination with the life of the Sydney rock oyster.
